WHAT IS CRANIAL NERVE AURICULOTHERAPY?

Cranial Nerve Auriculotherapy is a healthcare modality in which the outside surface is stimulated to alleviate pathological conditions in other parts of the body.

ORIGINATION

While originally based upon the ancient Chinese practice of acupuncture, the body connection to specific parts of the ear was first developed in Modern France by a medical Doctor and thus it is integrative of both alternative and medical practice.

APPLICATION TO MANY DISORDERS

Since every organ of the body is represented upon the external ear, auriculopathy is considered a potential source for alleviating any disease.

TREATMENT AND SIDE EFFECTS

When undergoing treatment you may feel a piercing sensation when intense electrical stimulation is applied to an ear acupoint.  It is possible that the ear may become inflamed and tender following treatment.  This is generally mild and subsides within a short time.  As with body acupuncture, some patients become very drowsy after an auriculotherapy treatment.  It may be recommended that you rest for a period of time (usually not to exceed 30 minutes).  This sedation effect has been attributed to the wide release of endorphins.

CONDITIONS AND APPLICATIONS

Auriculotherapy has been shown to be particularly effective in the following conditions:

1.       Addictive behaviors and drug detoxification- this includes addiction to the following substances or behaviors:

Nicotine and other Addictive Drugs        Food                 Work              Sex                Gambling

3.       Neurological Disorders including ADD and ADHD and many others including Parkinsons, Multiple Sclerosis, Facial Tics

Initial Diagnostic Session and Consultation (approx. 25-35minutes)                                        $60

Follow-up Treatment Sessions                                                                                                     $35
