Does Chiropractic care help?

Chiropractic adjustments, a healing art first utilized in 1895, can help with a variety of conditions or symptoms. The most common symptoms that present to our office are sciatica, migraines, neck pain, carpal tunnel, and ear infections. These symptoms are often related to the injuries, car accidents, daily stresses from lifting or bending at work or poor posture.

How safe is chiropractic?

Chiropractic adjustments are extremely safe for both adults and kids. In fact, chiropractors, when compared with other healthcare providers, pay some of the lowest malpractice insurance fees because the techniques and care provided are so safe. Some side effects to initial adjustments can be soreness or tenderness in the areas corrected just like you might have if you went to the gym to workout.

Is chiropractic safe for children?

Many parents want to know: "Is chiropractic safe for my child?" The answer is a YES! The International Chiropractic Pediatric Association has conducted a number of studies with outstanding results, showing chiropractic care to be very safe for children. Chiropractic adjustments are modified to fit each child's size, weight, and condition. They are very gentle, even as light as a finger touch on very young children. Each adjustment is specific to their developing spinal structure.

How Long Will It Take To Work?

Each person that engages with chiropractic care will respond differently….that's part of what makes the human body so unique and brilliant. The response to care often depends on the condition of the person's spine prior to getting adjusted. The longer the problem has been going on (chronicity), the more time it takes to correct the underlying problem, but many patients feel some level of symptomatic relief early on.

I didn't hear a sound....

The sound, the "pop" or a "crack," that is sometimes associated with certain types of adjustments is gas releasing within the joints. Whether or not gas releases from a joint during an adjustment has less to do with the effectiveness of the adjustment and more to do with the type of adjustment being utilized. Gas releasing from joints is not required for a subluxation to be corrected simply because there are different types of adjustments. Some types of adjustments cause gas to release from joints more frequently than other types. If you have questions about whether or not your adjustment is "working" there are many ways to tell that, such as a postural analysis, range of motion testing, x-ray analysis, and/or a simple leg length check. If you have more questions about this topic, we encourage you to talk more with your doctor about the different types of adjustments and the best way to measure the effectiveness of those adjustments.

Is Chiropractic care safe when I'm pregnant?

Absolutely yes!! Chiropractic care has consistently been found to be helpful in limiting pain & discomfort of the mother during pregnancy, restoring and maintaining good alignment of the pelvis, and most importantly helping to establish optimal nerve flow to all parts of the mother's body so that her body can function at it's highest potential while helping the baby to grow and develop. This leads to better positioning of the baby within the mother's pelvis, as well a smoother, less painful pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum recovery. Chiropractic for Mom is gentle and specific, utilizing both hands on and instrument techniques, making it very safe for both Mom and baby.
